In the Jonas Mekas skersvėjis in Užupis, a new installation by Dutch artist Sije Verski has taken root — “Flying Hats Tell Stories…” — dedicated to the godfather of avant-garde cinema, Jonas Mekas. The iconic image of the filmmaker — a man with a hat and a film camera in hand — is symbolically represented by 15 colorful hats, as this year the artistic street of Užupis celebrates its 15th name anniversary. In 2010, the alley was named “Jono Meko skersvėjis”.
